Patriots News · 2018 Fall Season Comes to an End


After a great regular season and some nice tournament wins, the 2018 fall season came to an end this Saturday. Teams competed at a high level and not only did teams accomplish new goals but individual student-athletes saw some post season awards; more awards will be announced over the next couple weeks.

Boys Soccer, led by first year head coach Joel Baker, finished the regular season 7-9-2 and won their first OHSAA tournament game vs Cuyahoga Heights.

Girls Soccer had another great regular season under head coach David Eck, and finished 8-8-1 after falling to Elyria Catholic in the first round 1-0.

JV Volleyball finished 13-7 while varsity finished 16-8, defeating Cuyahoga Heights in the first round of the OHSAA tournament then falling to Lake Ridge in the Sectional Finals.

Varsity Cross Country had a great year in it’s first year in the Lake Effect Conference with the varsity girls finishing as runner ups and varsity boys winning the conference Championship. Both teams competed at the Medina District Meet.

Middle School Soccer had a great year as they went 11-1-1 and fell at the state semi finals in the OCSAA to Central Christian.

Under new head coach, Becca Miska, both the 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams played at a high level. The 8th grade team went 10-9 (8-3) and won the regular season title in the Lutheran League. 7th grade finished 11-8 (5-6) and finished 4th in the Lutheran League Tournament.

Middle School Cross Country under new head coach David Couture, had a great season breaking new records.
